Welcome to the Harvard Women France initiative !
HWF is a new network aiming to foster ties among Harvard alumnae, to inspire and help one another. Our mission statement is built around the following concepts :
GIVE BACK
We have received a lot as Harvard alumnae, and feel a need to give back to others, including low income women in France who have not had the same opportunities.
DEBATE AND INFLUENCE
We want to have an impact on the decisions of the future in all spaces of society, at all levels of decision making, especially in a country accepting changes in its culture (quotas) to drive real change.
GROW TOGETHER AS DECISION MAKERS AND LEADERS
This is particularly difficult in a country where a certain understanding of what is needed to be feminine has been a challenge in an otherwise very socially mixed society.
INCREASE THE VISIBILITY OF HARVARD ALUMNAE IN FRANCE
At a time when promoting women and improving the performance of companies and societies are finally understood as being linked, in a country which recently established a  law on women quotas on boards, the Harvard alumnae in France want to be at the forefront of action and thought in this area.
